I met an old man who worked for the sea He handed me a glass and he told me Five beers in and I swagger to the door I'm barely started and I'm ready for more The door bangs open and the wind slides in Grimy light floods with an echoing din Throw my dusty coat to the old wood floor The barkeep grins and begins to pour Through amber glasses my insides stir I tell the barkeep to pour one for her I swagger on over to her table Her arms are strong and her lips are able We fell in love but we walk away And stow the memory of today I met an old man who worked for the sea He handed me a glass and he told me I jump on the table and the room falls still I pick up a song and the room begins to fill We dance and we dance and we have a good time Our voices shine like a polished dine I leap off the table and into the fray The music's on my back as I walk away I met an old man who worked for the sea He handed me a glass and he told me Of the night before full of wild forays A legend built on older days

Just a little disjointed, crumples in the edges coming from the night noises Hazy in my head playing back the day’s voices Living in rejoices Wish I had avoided all the bad choices Bundling and locking up all of the joys and sorrows And all the growing lists of shit to get done by tomorrow Gladly slipping falling fading to the land of never fear Thinking bout a me but sadly I don’t think he’s here The thing about the morning is that it does not exist There is just the dark may it forever more persist Look out to the world in the night I blow a kiss And I cannot desist to plop a second on my wrist Wake up now child and draw the curtain back It’s high time you came home May you never feel lonely in this house even when you come in here alone In this world I can touch the sky and be wherever that I could remember In this life I can have the moments of not wanting shaped to last forever The world of the living sometimes just don’t make sense to me Ambition overcuts and sucks the blood of agency Racing endlessly through this massive game of greed Whispers from a lazy feel from the land of the freed And man I got a day lined up straight in front me Looking at those digits on the clock that’s an affront to see Ruckus and rambunction in the future and the present But when I reminisce I’m feeling super not regretting Tomorrow imma get em And when the sun rise I figure out just where I’m heading But tonight at this time I leave behind the grind Resurrect and rewind as I reconnect with this mind Wake up now child and draw the curtain back It’s high time you came home May you never feel lonely in this house even when you come in here alone In this world I can touch the sky and be wherever that I could remember In this life I can have the moments of not wanting shaped to last forever

He asked She replied Feigning stoicism He tells her He misses his one And he’s happy for the Mem’ries He cries (or tries). She looks (at a) man who’s trying to speak his mind. He cries (or tries) She looks (at a) man who’s trying to make things right.

When the sound of the birds have got you feeling unnerved, You will drift from your home like a knife through cloth. You lay beside the needle and thread until the sounds wear off And you remember the way to close your eyes... Hold me water, back to the slaughter! Then let me go… Bring their name back, the line has gone slack I want you to know…(that) Here I am, no buttons or strings; I saw it all; Like a dam, I’m holding it back behind my jaw. Maybe I knew it all along? Through indifferent chances and the pressure that pulls, You pumped the blood and forced that smile. You learned to see all the colours they need from a damaged file; It’s just another way to close your eyes. [Instrumental break] There’s a song in a dim room, a candle-lit ghost-tune That they don’t know... A rip in the lifeline, a hole in the red wine. It’s a fire show… (but) Here I am, no buttons or strings; I saw it all. Like a dam, I’m holding it back behind my jaw. Maybe I knew it all along?

I will tell you now That I don’t feel out loud. Somethings, they never change; Like the need to rearrange. Take my own time Take my own time. Everything shifting around me Cut up a line Cut up a line. Slicing so strange and softly. Often, birds fly low Darting to and fro. Me, I whistle as well But on your ears, it never fell. Take my own time Take my own time. Everything shifting around me Cut up a line Cut up a line. Slicing so strange and softly. Even though I’ve changed You still see the same. The same bird that you saw before Doesn’t feel out loud anymore…

Is there room for the music in this home? Is there room for the music in this home? Is there room? Is there room? Is there room for the music in this home? Wouldn’t take much more than a boxcar below the stars To decorate the air with the sounds of band guitars Wouldn’t take much more than a bench built for two For folks to play piano in a welcoming milieu Is there room for the music in this home? Is there room for the music in this home? Is there room? Is there room? Is there room for the music in this home? Wouldn’t take much more than a quiet empty place For folks to decompress on their ride through outer space Wouldn’t take much more than an open music bay A place to band together, to listen, and to play Is there room for the music in this home? Is there room for the music in this home? Is there room? Is there room? Is there room for the music in this home?
